BeSA (Become a Solutions Architect) is back for its tenth cohort — and if you’ve been following this newsletter for a while, you’ll know how much this program means to me.
For those of you who are new here: BeSA is a free, six-week mentoring program that Ashish Prajapati, I and few other volunteers co-founded in 2022. It’s run entirely by volunteers — AWS professionals who give up their free time to mentor people who want to grow into cloud and AI careers.
In four years, we’ve trained 23,000+ learners across nine cohorts. Cohort 9 alone had 10,895 registrations, 98,500+ YouTube views, 6,136 workshops completed, and 40+ community volunteers who showed up every weekend to help participants through the hands-on labs.
Cohort 10 starts 22 August. Here’s everything you need to know.
What’s Different About Cohort 10
Cohort 9 covered Agentic AI on AWS at a conceptual and foundational level. Participants loved it — the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and several told us it was the first time they truly understood how to build agentic systems, not just what they were.
Cohort 10 goes further. The theme is Agentic AI: from POC to Production on AWS.
That framing is deliberate. Everyone’s running pilots now. The real gap is what happens after — how you take an agentic system and make it production-ready, secure, observable, and governable. That’s what this cohort addresses.
The behavioural track has also been sharpened: Leading Customer Discussions as a Solutions Architect. In a market where every senior SA is being asked to advise on AI strategy, the ability to facilitate a room full of competing technical opinions and help a customer make a decision — not just present slides — is the skill that separates good SAs from great ones.
And for hands-on experience, participants in Cohort 10 get access to AWS Workshops every week — real environments to build in, not just theory.

Who Should Join
BeSA has never been just a beginners’ program. Previous cohorts have included people brand new to cloud alongside experienced engineers and architects who wanted to go deeper on a specific topic or sharpen their customer-facing skills.
Batch 10 is a good fit if you are:
A developer or engineer looking to transition into Solutions Architecture
A cloud professional who wants to go deeper on agentic AI and production systems on AWS
An SA — whether early-career or experienced — who wants to get better at facilitating technical decisions and customer conversations
Anyone who wants to speak more credibly about AI strategy with customers or leadership
If you’re right at the start of your cloud journey, I’d recommend working through the BeSA AWS Foundations platform first — built entirely by BeSA alumni, completely free. It’ll give you the grounding to get the most out of the live sessions.

Sessions are live-streamed on YouTube every Saturday. All recordings are posted on the BeSA YouTube channel after each session, so if you miss a week you can catch up — but we do ask you to commit to attending live as much as possible. The curriculum is progressive and the live interaction is a big part of what makes it work.

A Note on Volunteers
BeSA runs because a group of people choose to give their time — on top of full-time jobs, on their weekends — because they believe in what this community is doing.
Batch 9 ended with 40+ community volunteers supporting 1,000+ participants every weekend through AWS Workshop Studio. Many of them were BeSA participants themselves in earlier cohorts, who came back to help the next wave of learners. That’s the compound effect of a community that genuinely cares.
If you’ve ever benefited from BeSA — as a participant, through the YouTube recordings, through the AWS Foundations platform — the right way to give back is to show up, engage, and eventually put your hand up to volunteer for a future cohort. That’s how this keeps growing.
